Covid19 - Green Pass

The event will be held under the restrictions of the Green Pass.
To enter the conference you will be required to present your "vaccination certificate" / "certificate of recovery”.
At the conference please keep the safety instructions, wear a mask and keep a 2 meters distance from each other.

Entry Visa

Passport holders of EU countries, the USA and Canada, do not require entry visas to Israel. For participants from other countries we suggest you check the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the following links or check with your local Israeli embassy, consulate or travel agent.

Climate and Clothing

The average temperature at the Dead Sea area in January ranges between 23°C and 11°C.  Often rainfall and fog may be expected in January, however, rainstorms or snow are rarely observed in Israel. The daytime weather is expected to be sunny and warm, nighttime weather is expected to be colder, thus, it is recommended to pack warm clothes as well. Casual dress is appropriate for all conference occasions.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hats, suntan lotion and swimsuits are recommended for tours.

Posters

Two separate Poster Sessions will begin on the evenings of January 3 and January 4. They will be displayed in the Avni Hall. Please check for the day your poster is scheduled.
Poster dimensions should be:
Width: 70 cm / 27.5”

Height: 100 cm/ 39.3”
Please make sure that your posters do not exceed the recommended dimensions.

Fixtures for the hanging of posters will be provided.

Transportation

Ben Gurion International Airport is Israel’s main international airport and is connected to many major cities by direct flights (3-5 hours from Europe, 10-12 hours from America and the Far East).

Electricity

The Israeli power supply is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz. Most power sockets in Israel have three pin holes, but many of them will work with double-pin European plugs. Visitors who want to use shavers, traveling irons and other small appliances may need both transformers and adaptor plugs.

Liability

Participants are advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance coverage. The conference organizers and/or the Technion will not be liable for any loss or damage to property belonging to conference participants nor for personal injuries sustained during or as a result of the conference or during tours.

Speakers

The language of the meeting is English. Please notify us if you will be presenting in Hebrew. Please make sure that you know the schedule of your talk and the location.
It is important that the timetable be strictly adhered to. Please note that your scheduled time already includes 5 minutes for Q&A.

To avoid delays, speakers are kindly requested to upload presentations before the session or contact assisting staff in advance. If possible, please send the presentations to meitalg@technion.ac.il a week before the conference. In case of unusual requests, please let us know in advance.

A letter of invitation

A letter of invitation from the conference will be issued upon request. This invitation is prepared solely to assist with visa application or participation requirements, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support or confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program.
To apply for a letter of invitation please send an email to Ms. Meital Gotfrid : meitalg@technion.ac.il and she will send you the details required to fill the order.

Currency / Exchange

The currency unit in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS – “Shekel” in short). International credit cards are accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Exchange offices and ATM machines are easily available throughout the city and at Ben-Gurion International Airport. We recommend that you change some of your money at the airport for immediate needs.

Foreign participants

During check in when you present your passport and the B2 entrance card which you receive at the airport (which indicates your exemption for paying VAT), the rate of the accommodation will be reduced accordingly.
